At Fellowship Baptist Church we take the Great Commission very seriously. The local church has been given a job to do – to reach the world with the good news of salvation and an eternal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We practice evangelism in our own city as well as supporting church planting efforts in New Zealand and around the world. We were very excited to be able to send one of our own members, Theresa Mofya, to the mission field in Africa over 8 years ago. Theresa has been using her medical skills as a part of a church planting team operating in Malawi and neighbouring countries. She is currently based in Mpulungu, Northern Zambia.

Theresa had been ministering in Malawi for nearly 8 years before transitioning to Mpulungu, Zambia to work with Dave and Wendy Kaufmann with a new church plant. She continues to teach, disciple and use her medical skills where she can for the glory of God.
